Urban Synergy with Goldman Sachs delivered another “Think Further” Academic Seminar to year 9 students at Deptford Green school. The group from the Community Teamworks talked to the students about the diversity of opportunities with Goldman Sachs and the banking and investment industry. After a short presentation, the students were split into smaller groups to talk with the team about career paths, writing CVs, work experience and raising aspirations.
Our thanks to all the Goldman Sachs Community Team Works and the staff at Deptford Green school for helping deliver this inspirational event.
Feedback from the students:
“I understand how extra-curricular activities and volunteering can help me in gaining skills and experience”
” I thought the day was inspiring, fun and very informative”
“It was good that people came in to talk to us so we could learn about banking”
” I think this was very good”
It is also clear from the interview sheets that students filled in that they’ve learned about soft skills, they discussed the importance of working hard and getting good GCSEs, the importance of getting involved at school, skills needed at work, what do people actually do at work, how important it is to do things that you love and get fullfilment in your career…..
